Teton Verse Open Mic at Jackson Hole Book Trader

Excerpt of poem read aloud at Teton Verse:

  • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

  • Snow Angels

  • Sail, sail backwards

  • Into the pillow-like sea.

  • Let your arms soar

  • Like a bird skimming the sky

  • And rest on your back,

  • Pressing your feet side to side.

  • As ice tickles your nose,

  • Inhale the fresh air

  • Breathe in the magic,

  • Leave your imprint to share.

  • Angels, angels everywhere.

  • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

  • Oregon Sunflower

  • Blooms of balsamroot signal

  • The return of early summer,

  • With splatter-paint splashes

  • Of sun-burst yellow —

  • Drips and drops

  • Randomly flung off

  • The rain-drenched tip of

  • A springtime brush.
