Snow Angels
Sail, sail backwards
Into the pillow-like sea.
Let your arms soar
Like a bird skimming the sky
And rest on your back,
Pressing your feet side to side.
As ice tickles your nose,
Inhale the fresh air
Breathe in the magic,
Leave your imprint to share.
Angels, angels everywhere.

Oregon Sunflower
Blooms of balsamroot signal
The return of early summer,
With splatter-paint splashes
Of sun-burst yellow —
Drips and drops
Randomly flung off
The rain-drenched tip of
A springtime brush.
Jackson Hole Public Art: Poem entitled “Sunrise” published as the inaugural postcard in the renovated JH Poetry Box, read aloud here, August 2025.
